Akela is based in Pirongia, South-west of Hamilton and boasts 12 Hectares (30acres) of variable terrain ideal for training dogs in a wide range of activities and disciplines. At the Akela Natural Canine Leadership Centre there are resources to work with your dog in areas as wide ranging as Domestic Obedience to Sheep Dog Trialling and Stock Management.

Akela also has access to a private forest that provides an extended training ground for Distance Work. This forestry is also available at certain times of the year for Free-run opportunities.
